2022 EXCEL SERIES:
Skate Kansas City is a part of the 2022 Excel Series and will offer all Excel levels, Beginner – Senior. Excel Free Skate events to be judged IJS: All Excel “PLUS” levels (Preliminary Plus, Pre-Juvenile Plus, Juvenile Plus, Intermediate Plus), and Pre-Juvenile through Senior levels. Excel Free Skate Events to be judged 6.0: Beginner, High Beginner, Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary.
Skaters must register to participate in the Excel Series prior to competition at designated competitions in order to have their points recorded and seen in standings. Excel Series Registration | Excel Series Information
MID-WEST FIGURE SKATING COUNCIL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES:
Kansas City Figure Skating Club is a member of the Mid-West Figure Skating Council (MWFSC) and is participating in the Mid-West Council Championship Series (MWCCS). Participating competitions are Heartland Winter Classic, Snowball Spectacular, Skate KC, Heart of America, Wichita Mid-Continent Classic, Pony Express Championships, and Line Creek Fall Fling.
Actual competitions will be dependent upon each hosting Club’s final decision to hold their event. Points will be awarded for Beginner through Adult level events (Free Skate, Showcase, Jumps, Spins, Dance, and Compulsory) along with Compete USA events (Basic Elements, Basic Program, and Basic Skills Showcase). This event is a standard U.S. Figure Skating Nonqualifying Competition – Skaters may enter one of two tracks.
The Comprehensive Track will include all events a skater enters (Free Skate, Dance, Showcase Events, Jumps, Spins, and Compulsory). The Free Skate Track will only include singles Free Skate events (Long Program for Intermediate – Senior). Skaters must indicate the track in which they wish to compete when they sign up. Track selection cannot be changed after registration.
Skaters competing in this Series will receive points for placement in each of the above events at the recognized competitions. At the end of the season, top point skaters will receive awards from MWFSC, and the club with the most skater-accumulated points will receive the Traveling Championship Trophy for that year. There is an annual $10 registration fee to enter the Championship Series, which can be paid at the first competition entered or by registering on the Council website at www.MWFSC.net.
ELIGIBILITY/TEST LEVEL: Test Level: Competition level is the highest test passed as of the entry deadline in the discipline the skater is entering. Entrants may skate one level above that for which they qualify, but they may not skate down in any event. Age restrictions/requirements: Singles free skate events (well-balanced program) have

Registration will open January 22, through the Members Only EMS Competition Portal. The registration deadline is February 20, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET. Please note, this deadline is also for music and PPC uploads. Late fees will be assessed after this deadline for each missing item.
New this year - event registration fee includes a copy of the skater's video! Videos can be picked up following the event.
Again this year, we are offering IJS events for Pre-Juvenile through Senior short programs & free skates, all Excel Plus levels, and Excel Juvenile - Senior free skate events, and spins (Pre-Preliminary – Senior). This is a fantastic opportunity for skaters at various levels to get exposure to the IJS judging system.
We will also host a test session during the competition – exact dates and times will be determined once entries for the competition close. Sign up for testing here - the test session deadline is March 10, 2022.

Skate Kansas City 2022 is a designated 2022 Excel Series competition. As an Excel Series event, skaters entered in the Series at eligible levels will earn points for their placement here in order to qualify for the National Festival to be held in June 2022 at a location to be announced.

Skate Kansas City 2022 will be held at Independence Community Ice/Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, MO, March 24-27, 2022.
Due to other activities in the building that weekend, we will only be running on the Community rink.
Skate KC will be held at the Cable Dahmer Arena, located at 19100 East Valley View Parkway, Independence, Missouri.
The rink and hotels are a 30-45 minute drive from the airport, so please plan accordingly.
